Mantis

Just got part2 of my TBS package and in it was a small (1-1.5") mantis.

No time for a picture but he is really cool looking, pink legs, blueish green underside, kinda red topside.

Free to anyone that can come get him in Steger, he goes to the LFS tomorrow mornin if nobody wants

Since its from TBS, chances are that its Neogonodactylus wennerae. A nice opportunity - its one of the smaller mantis shrimp and can be housed in a relatively small tank. Dr. Roy in the mantis forum seems ok with these guys in a 5.5 or even smaller, with water changes of course. Some of the other mantis require significantly larger quarters, like the peacock mantis. I have two N. Werrenae that were hitchhikers from TBS to some gent in El Paso... ones in my office tank. Neat creatures. Only downfall is that cant keep anything that moves with them, but nice in a softies tank without a cleanup crew. Hope someone grabs it.
