GRMAS Meeting Minutes 3/06/06
Ã"šÃ‚·April Meeting: The next meeting will be held at the normal location at the Family Fare Community room. The next meeting will be on Monday April 3, 2006 from 7pm-9pm. Thanks Aaron for helping to locate a room for the March meeting.
Ã"šÃ‚·John Ball Zoo tour: Thanks those members who attended the tour last month. It was a lot of fun for those who were able to attend and was very informative and interesting. Please check out pictures from the tour on our website, www.grmas.org. It was amazing to see how much equipment is necessary for filtration and maintenance of their systems!
Ã"šÃ‚·Club T-shirts: Chad and Julie Kirby have been working on t-shirt logos for our club t-shirts. Several options were presented as was a large selection of colors for the shirts. They are working with a friend to make sample shirt for the next meeting to have club members vote on. The tentative cost is approx $10-12/ shirt, the final cost will be determined by the logo that is selected and will be discussed at future meeting.
Ã"šÃ‚·MASM event discount: Chad Penney, the President of MASM has offered a $5 discount to any members of our club planning on attending their conference March 25th in Ann Arbor. Please check out their website for further details if interested (www.masm.org).
Ã"šÃ‚·Swap Meet Update: Club members please arrive at the swap site at 9:30 March 18th to help with set-up for the event. We will be allowing those parties that have reserved tables in advance arrive at 10am for set-up of their items for sale.
oSigns: Thanks to Derek for making awesome signs for the event to direct traffic to the appropriate location. Chad and Julie Kirby will be placing these signs along the road Saturday morning prior to the start of the Swap. Signs for the doors at the Community Building will be made to direct attendees to the appropriate rooms.
oDirections: Chad Kirby will be providing Rob Macy with the directions to the location of the swap, Rob Macy will then post the directions on the website and MI Reefers forum.
oTables: Just a clarification for club members: we decided via vote that if club members are selling more than 5 items they will need to purchase a table at the event. Table prices for club members are Ã"šÃ‚½ off regular cost. Please reserve a table with Scott Yonkers of Gerde prior to the event so we can set up a table for you. To help decrease confusion for those purchasing your items, club members MUST sell their own items, we will be happy to direct people interested in your items to you if you are helping with the swap. The GRMAS club table is being reserved for only those club members who are selling fewer than 5 items. Once again, we will direct potential buyers to you to avoid confusion.
oFood: Chad and Julie Kirby have purchased pop and bottled water for the event, these items will be delivered to the facility the evening prior to the swap and placed in the cooler for sale during the swap. They will also be checking with local pizza stores for purchase of pizzas for sale during the swap.
oClub member volunteers: Bob and John have agreed to work at the door allowing admissions and table fees. They will give name tags as proof of entry at this time. Please encourage people to place their screen names from MI Reefers on their name tags to help their buyer identify them. Ed will be getting name tags and markers prior to the event. We will likely need other club members to help throughout the day with admission, raffle sales, and food sales.
oSwap Rules:
Ã"šÃ‚·GRMAS is not responsible for any items that are lost or stolen during the event.
Ã"šÃ‚·If selling items, please be prepared to make change as needed for your sales.
Ã"šÃ‚·No alcohol or smoking is allowed on premises (according to City ordinances)

Ecco-Reef will have a sponsor table at the event where they will be selling goods and providing coupons for discounts to the store for attendees to the swap. Thanks Ecco-Reef!!
