Hi,
I have a few fairy wrasse in my tank now... Smallest is 2 inch and biggest is 3.5 inch...
Was considering of get a Marine betta... Have a offer from an fellow reefer... The betta is 4 inch inclusive of tail, so i guess the body is about 2.5 inch...
Is it okay that i get it... Considering the Fairies that i have...

Thanks...

Shouldn't be any problem at all. Marine Betta's are probably the most over looked fish for a reef tank. They're very hardy, don't bother corals and most inverts and fish. They will swallow small snails or pods but for the most part are very safe.

Thanks...
I agree they are not only hardy but beautiful too...
The only thing i am concern about is it eating my other fishes...

Unless the other fish are very small, which your aren't, I wouldn't worry about it. Actually you need to worry about other fish taking out pieces of the the Marine Betta tail, which happens from time to time.

I think a great fish to have and differently eye catching.

Got my Marine betta yesterday... It is 4 inch plus... Very Beautiful but i think due to mis-handling, the fins and tail got torn... It seems like the tails are very fragile...

Very shy, only saw it two time during light out and its head popping out during feeding...

They are shy fish..they do stay in the rock most of the time. I wouldn't worry about it eating fish unless the fish is so small it can fit in its mouth. I have had two Bettas. Neither would eat frozen food and my Arc eye Hawkfish would eat the live food before the Betta even turned around:eek: One of mine was a little aggressive, chasing off my Flame Angel and Salon fairy Wrasse from his cave . I sold both of them. [ I did not have them at the same time]
They are awesome fish! Is yours eating prepared food? Have you seen these fish eat ghost shrimp? The way they eat live food is cool, using the eyespot on there tailfin to confuse the prey!
Good luck too you, enjoy this awesome fish

Yup.. It is eating my home made food... It was already eating frozen when i got it... Dun think would want to feed it live food... Wouldnt wan it to get too aggressive...

Yeah. don't bother with the live food. Good to hear its eating prepared foods! Can you post a pic?

I will try to but i think it is difficult to get a photo of it due to my aquascaping... It is always behind a rock... And only makes rare appearances...

Will Marine Bettas eat Dwarf Hemrits?

They are not safe with small shrimps... not sure about Hermit... Don't have hermits so cant comment much about it...

Will Marine Bettas eat Dwarf Hemrits?

Marine Bettas are save with hermits, as they're to large for them to eat. They will eat small, pyramind type off of the rocks and mini-star fish also.

Marine Betta aren't going to eat anything that large, so most shrimp & fish are safe unless they're very small. Anything bigger than the size of a dime will be safe and that is still really pushing.

Not likely. I've had one now for a couple of years without any problems and I've got tons of small hermits and shrimp and it never bothers them. I also had one before for over 10+ years and it never ate any inverts in my tank and the one I had was pretty large.

I'll believe you over wetweb. Even though they are experienced reef keepers, they tend to be not so thorough in their responses.

Here a some photos taken...

Did took a rare full shot but i think i deleted by accident...
