I orderd on Feb 9th and they said the 6025 were on backorder.
It is now almost 3 weeks later and nothing.

Is there a problem with Tunze getting product to Marine depot?

Thanks,

John

I'm not the authority here, just another guy waiting in line. I ordered my 6045's from Phishy business. There are threads around that explain that they are working out some initial bugs and shipping soon to the US. I read that Reefexotics and Premium Aquatics got a limited amount of 6045's in. Phishy Business told me they expect the 6045's I ordered in sometime between today and 3/5. I think we are lucky getting the second batch, as they are putting ALOT of quality assurance work into these.

Production of the 6025's was halted due to the issues with loose shafts and noisy pumps. We had to wait for a new shipment of drive units (prop/magnet assemblies) with a tighter fit. We also had to change the mold to get the hole that the shaft is pressed into tighter. They are making them now but worldwide they fell way behind in the few weeks of no pumps being made. The 6045's are coming in, I have more due this week. Because these followed later in production the shafts were tighter fitted from the beginning. I can't recall getting a 6045 returned that the shaft came loose on so I would have to say those are good to go. The only problems the 6045's had were bad fitting drive units that were two tight to reverse or too loose and rattled. With the new drive units this is resolved. I expect more 6025's most likely next week.

Roger,
I hate to be a hater, but,

Those folks at Tunze need to wake up and join the global economy.

We have had a lot of problems lately, I cannot do more than apologize. First, since 2002 Tunze has grown at the rate of 30+% a year. This is an enormous amount of growth to keep up with. What complicates things is Tunze is now 48 years old, we started building aquarium equipment when the hobby was so small everything could be done by hand, most of our designs were done for low volume hand assembly. With the latest products we have changed that but we have had a lot of recent set backs. Our head of production quit last fall, he couldn't deal with the stress and constant pressure to make more. There is a learning curve for his replacement, to keep up with growth the factory is being added on to and a storage facility was purchased and many new employees were added. All of this adds to the changes and the learning curve. In all honesty we never expected this, we had always been the small factory in Bavaria that made products for the few high end hobbyists, professors and authors so it has been a lot of change and we don't want to farm things out because typically this is how competitors get a hold of your technology. I have been doing this since 1999 and the US sales alone have grown 25 fold in 8 years. We get more now than we ever did but the demand has grown at an astonishing rate, if I got the same supply now 2 years ago we would have plenty for everyone and stock on our shelves. However, Mr. Tunze is really engaged to solve these problems but it takes time, it takes a few months to see the results of changes in assembly technique and scheduling. Add to this that we take the value of our name very seriously and we know that the first 6025 despite our best efforts and the most testing any product we have made has undergone, had flaws. I would rather not have a product than to sell one that is not up to our standards and be faced with the difficulties of that. Things will get better but it is going to take a while, we honestly are doing everything we can.
