marine goop. yay or nay?

I'm wanting to put together an acryllic fuge and had been told in the past to use marine goop. Now that I have a tube of it, I'm seeing contradictions all over the place. Can anyone give me a definitive yay or nay as to if I should use this on anything that is going to come in contact with the water going into my tank? If not, what would you recommend?

edit: basically I'm just joining pieces of an aquaclear 110 together to make a baffle for a fuge.

yeah, I'm confused about that one too. some people say marine, some say household. I think I'm just gonna take the marine goop back and just use silicone.

silicone won't fully adhere to acrylic and will eventually leak.

MArine goop is fine........however if your building a fuge from acrylic why not hld out and use the correct stuff like Weldon #4 or 16.......Marine Goop will work but its certainly not going to give the results weldon will.....

Marine Goop or HOusehold goop is not silicone in any shape form or fashion.....

chipmaker: I'm not making a acrylic box from scratch, just "gluing" a piece inside a AC110 to make a makeshift baffle inside. I'm still contemplating just swapping out the marine goop for something else. Where would I find weldon?
