Marine velvet- cowfish?

Hey team, unfortunately had a bad case of marine velvet which over the space of 4 days wiped out half the tank. Freshwater dipped everyone and they are in a hospital tank. I am using a skimmer and doing cupramine although seachem change their mindabout whether you can use one or not so would be useful to know if I should continue to do so.

I'm most worried about the cowfish who is in a separate tank due to him potentially poisoning others should he perish. Was wondering if anyone has had mv with a cowfish and how did you solve? I thinking a lower dose of copper but for a longer period of time but not sure if that works? He is eating again now and generally seems happy. Thanks for any help you can provide

I’ve had a cowfish due in QT and it didn’t poison the tank and everyone else that was in QT lived through it. A lower dose of copper won’t kill the velvet. I would look into treating with chloroquine phosphate instead of cupramine or copper
