Marineland 92 Build

I lost almost all coral do to salinty issues. DD refractometer calibrated to zero per the instructions causing a raise in salinty. I was chasing my tale no idea why everything was dieing. I ended up buying a digital refractometer and found out I was almost 40ppt. What is left is still recovering, unfortunately not much to look at right now. I will keep you posted with my progress. The light it great, although it's tough to switch to t5, if it wasn't for the Leds I would hate it.

Sorry about your corals. I have the same refractometer. Been using it for a few years now. I noticed it does change sometimes. But I never trust these types of equipment. As a fail safe, I obtained a large vial of water from my LFS's SPS display which is known salinity, and use a few drops of this now and again to confirm the salinity.

As for the T5's; yeah if you are used to Metal Halides then you will find the light very static. Myself, having used T8's, then T5's, then MH's for many years and then moving back to T5's; I dont miss the look and shimmer of MH as much as I would have as I like the colour of the corals under T5.

With T5+LED; its almost like MH. :)
