Mark's 150 gallon

Back when I did my interceptor treatment I didn't even notice my pod population take a hit to be honest. Seemed like the only thing to die was the red bugs. However I don't exactly rely on any pod population for anything in my tank they are just kind of there. Maybe they came less but all I know is it wasn't long till they seemed to everywhere again at night

I am seeing pretty dramatic improvements in the top downs and I think most of the credit has to go to the new bulbs. Interceptor really improved all polyp extension, even in non acros. I have no complaints.

The Lokani showing the sudden purple color change that pushed me to treating the tank. You just gotta love a coral that never looks bad.

I do not know what this is, I assumed SSC, but it never browned out.

Even the Miami Orchid is looking good.

My two favorite non acros have improved dramatically as well.

Some red cyano suddenly showing up, which I have read can be expected after treatment.

I do need to source some large dog interceptor if anyone knows a good source. We can only get the medium pill for our dog.

I'll bore you all with a few more.

The nasuta is continuing to improve.

Hawkins had browned out but has now quickly reversed and turning green.

Sarmentosa ... some of the tips half green half brown.

This one has been through hell but looking pretty darn good.

Frag rack ... my one concern is the odd bright green on a couple of frags (above and to the right of the setosa). One is the pink milli and the other the aussie (3 cuttings on a disc). BOth are getting an odd bright green base.

KH is down to 7, it's been slowly falling from 7.5, 2 weeks ago.
PO4 steady around .04
NO3 around 10

Kalk is used to maintain Alk and Calcium, as usual.
Dosing spongepower, 5 drops, every other day.
Dosing Seachem Reef Trace, 1 cap, every other day
*new* Dosing KZ Flatworm Stop, 2ml, every day
*new* Dosing 2 drops of PhosphateRx in the 1st sump chamber every morning.

The flatworm stop may be thickening up some of the acro skin, or maybe it's not doing anything. I don't plan to purchase again but will probably continue to dose until bottle is gone. The slimer has responded quite well post dosing, but it may have been unrelated.

I've changed feeding habits to a single flake feeding of green algae flakes for the tangs, and 2 small feedings of high protein pellets for everything else.

Just checked the tank with a flashlight. The bite and scratch marks all over the underside of the Lokani and Valida are gone. Those little bastard bugs were eating the acros similar to AEFW except smaller bites. Maybe I shouldn't be surprised?

Looks like the nuclear option was the right call. I wonder what the little beasties are? I'm happy to see things are improving:)

Thanks. I bet they are egg layers so I am planning to treat again. If anyone has a good mail order source a PM would be most welcome. :)

My two remaining chromis live in the slimer and one barely moves so I was able to get a few pics with the macro lens.

Mark! Looking really good.
That lokani shot a few posts up hit me like a punch in the gut... STUNNING.
I'm really happy to see all the improvements.
I sincerely hope they continue.
Looks like they will.
Probably a good idea to do a second dose.. Too bad about the Acro crab. They hurt the most to see disappear.

Thanks Matt.

The tank is looking better every day, some of the acros getting a rich shine to them along with deep colors I have not seen before. Perhaps it's the flatworm stop, perhaps it's something else, but I like it.

Been too busy to test (other than Alk), just keeping up with 2 drops PhosphateRX, the flatworm stop, and the occasional Reef Trace.

Mark,
Glad to hear things are getting better. That lokani is insane. Makes me want one pretty bad. Great photography skills as always!

Mark, perhaps it's the lack of bugs irritating the corals that is causing the shine.

Just caught up on your thread Mark, it's such a relief to see things are still improving! Keep it up, your acros are looking better and better!

Good news. Onward and upward.

Mark.. 1 word... finally!!!!. Wow its about time that thing turns around for you brother. Specialy after so many downs

Thank you all for the nice comments, it's been a long slog. :)

I think you must be right because the tank is improving and fast, faster than I've ever witnessed in my short reefing experience.

Sat to Wed, 4 days.

Even one of my frags, and I hope this is a broken piece of a reddish acro that was killed off, is suddenly coming alive. I never once saw any pest on most of these yet the quick results since the tank treatment can't be denied.

Must stop taking photos now and just let it ride for a while. :D

Getting algae on the glass daily so nutrients are elevated. I suspect low PO4 and high NO3 since these are the conditions the nasuta loves. Have not tested.

Looking good Mark! I'm so glad to hear that the treatment has had a major improvement in the tank and the acro's are rebounding really well!! :D

We like pictures though!

Thanks guys!

PO4 = .05
NO3 = 1
KH = 7.0

I was a little surprised at the low nitrates. I'll drop my vinegar dose just a little to compensate. The 2 drops of PhosphateRx seems to be the ticket for keeping PO4 steady, nice and easy.

Colors continue to improve and at the moment every coral looks healthy.
