Mark's 150 gallon

Nice catch on the flow.
Mark your tank is in the zone.
Growing fast!! Love it!

Thanks Matt, I have my fingers and toes crossed I don't screw something up. :D

That FTS is incredible

Thanks, but nothing close to the tanks I've followed as inspiration to get to this point.

second this.

Is your green slimer growing like a monti on the back glass? Looks awesome

It is, and will start sending out new branches as it encrusts. If I let it I'm convinced it could take over most of the tank. I might let it. :D

Finally had to sit and enjoy the tank as the LED's dimmed down for the night. It's in the groove, colors are really fantastic under both daylight and blue LED, but the blue shots are just ridiculous at the moment.

Thanks guys. Had the macro out ... things look as they should but I do note the Hawkins is finally getting some blue tips rather than staying that odd green all over.

My mystery green is now where Pinky used to be. Looks oddly familiar ... hopefully this is something unique and not a duplicate.

Every piece is beautiful and healthy! Your reef is in the rare air zone, playing above the rim.

Is your back glass painted black or does it just appear that way? It gives a great affect of depth to the reef.

Also your tip on the Phosphate RX has been a great help. I was always testing .19 and had to dose up my nitrates to get good colors. I think the phosphate was really higher but the algae was consuming the rest of it. Now I am at .07 and the algae is decreasing. The nitrate is holding on it's own at 10 and the colors are good. I will keep using it at two drops per day.

Thanks for sharing the knowledge!

Kevin

Beautiful tank! Just finished reading the entire thread, it's really encouraging to see what your tank has become through all the struggles.

Are you still able to keep up with the alk demand using kalk and some two part?

Currently adding 75ml of each part 2 part along with the Kalk. Imagine what it would be without Kalk! :spin3: Thanks for the compliment, glad you enjoyed the thread. Hopefully my struggles and end results encourages people to stick with the madness we call a hobby.

Beautiful tank Mark !!!!

Mark everything is looking great!!!

Just lovely!! The tank looks absolutely fantastic Mark :)

Thanks guys!

So I added Coral Beauty and he's never nipped. Not satisfied with success I finally found (locally) and added a Flame. He's a real punk, was a punk at the store so I was hoping he could defend himself. I knew when he stood up to the sixline I had a winner.

He swam though the big green slimer to get to algae on the back wall. My tank is so wonderfully filthy I (so far) have never had nipping issues.

Those fts look amazing mark:inlove::inlove:
Glad the little guy isn't giving trouble and doing well.Looks really beautiful!

Thanks Mike, nice to see you around!

Nothing much has changed, other than more growth. Some days colors are incredible and other days colors are a bit washed out. I'm going to have to start writing down every single thing I do again to see if I can figure out what the tank likes.

New camera body arrived yesterday, a Nikon D5500. Same lenses but better sensor, more dynamic range, WiFi, 1080P @ 60fps video and other goodies I have no idea how to use. I had 15 minutes before the T5's shut off to take a few pics. RAW format has been updated so I had to install a new codec which wiped out my settings. These are mostly natural looking but some of the colors are wonky.

These last two are testing 3200 ISO, which does fantastic compared to my older D3100.
