Mark's 180 Starfire upgrade

Yeah it is almost the same format as manhattan reefs so it takes a bit to get used to but is very nice.

Its pretty much the same as another board I frequent as well. It might take a couple days/weeks to figure out everything, but I'm glad to see its "progress rather than perfection" ;)

There are some really cool features I've heard to this update. I also believe that there will be more to come over the next month. This was/is a large part of it, but its just the base foundation.

Did I mention that the search feature works again :D

Maybe we'll get a build thread :lmao:

Or just an SPS forum that is for SPS and not lighting, tank builds, identification, fish, LPS pictures, additives and anything else under the sea :strange:

 I find it hard and hard to vist that fourm :sad1:

Why oh why did I think today would be a good day to do a water change?

70 gallons later and a whole bunch of sand that has been removed, it's time to start thinking what pieces I want to put back where :sad1:

Man.... that does sound like a predicament-it's almost like which arm do you value more. ..ok, maybe not that extreme... I had to do that with a few pieces.

Tell me about it Jay. I chopped up a couple of my larger pieces today :( As the tank grows in, I am starting to get some stn around the bases because all the corals are fighing for space/light/flow.

I forgot what 7 hours of reefkeeping feels like. A sore back from standing on a step stool for at least 5 hours. Small cuts on your hand that are covered with dried IC gel from gluing corals down. A wife that is not too happy and a yound daughter who keeps asking for me to put another movie on for her; And to think that this is just the 1st stage :hammer:

There are not the best pics as everything is pretty cloudy and I only worked on the left side, but I just wanted my friends to feel like they were here with me :p

LOL sounds like me right now, my tank has grown like crazy over the last couple of months, and now some of my sps bottoms are touching and killing some.....i never had this problem before. I have a pocci that is taking over a rock and took a couple of my corals now that i had to move. With everything already encrusted on the rocks im just letting nature do its thing lol. Good luck

Looking really nice Mark, I am digging the new look. If you have anything you would like to get ride of please let me know. :)

Thanks. I knew this day was coming even when I was in the process of collecting. I went through my "I must have everything" phase and before its all said and done, I will be down to about 50ish.

Thanks. It was nice to play with all the corals and realize I wasn't doing this because I had to, but because I wanted to. I did throw a few branches in fresh water and revive just to make sure. I guess its just habit :twitch:

So how many coral did you remove?

I chopped up my large slimer and just added a couple pieces of it back in. I think I ended up taking 10 pieces to the garage; so far ;) I needed to get a couple of my favorite pieces more light. My PM was also being attacked from three different sides, so I decided to move a few others to give it some room for a few more weeks.
