Mark, I'm liking the wider shots and the PPT really stands out. Almost looks like there is a spotlight on it. What lens are you using for the wider shots and what are the settings?

Mark, Nice meeting you in person yesterday. Glad that you chose to spend time with your family and make a run at The CA Adventure as you didn't miss much (except the Rare Angel presentation was cool), certainly nothing to skip spending time w/the family over. Did you end up going back up I-5 that day or did you spend another night on the rust bucket?

Thanks Dan, Those wider shots were taken with the 50mm f/1.8. I usually shot in full manual mode but when shooting the fish, I usually switch to shutter priority.

It was nice to meet you, Ian and Copps yesterday. Too bad I was on a tight schedule and was already running a little behind schedule.

It was an interesting trip to say the least Dan. To see the parks with our daughter was a pretty cool experience. It was also the first time that I was really able to get away from the tank and the prison that it has created in my life. It will be an interesting few months and I do not think I will be adding to the tank for awhile afterall.

Ian, as of right now, all tank plans are on hold.

Brian, if I don't remove some corals and move some things around, it will only create more problems long term. The tank is already showing signs of shading and I've noticed some stn on a couple corals in lower flow areas. I'm definitely not looking forward to the project, but its only going to get worse later on.

For me, that's what it's all about; enjoying your kid's experiences is the best. How happy and excited they get, that look of amazement is priceless. We are planning a two week trip and I am also wondering about who will look after the tank while I'm away. Last thing I need to do is worry about the tank while trying to vacation.

So true Dan, It was nice to have my dad come by to check out the tank and feed the fish, but throughout the day I would still think about the tank from time to time. I would get "that" feeling in my gut and would get worried about getting "that" call.

Also, do you run carbon and/or GFO?

I don't just run one brand of salt. Most of the time I run a mix of RC, Seachem reef and Tunze. I do 20% waterchanges every other week or so. I do run carbon and GFO and I try to change them out once a month.

Mark, if you ever need anyone to look after the tank let me know. I work only about 10-15 minutes from your house.

On a side note be careful with SeaChem salt as of late. The last 20+ buckets I bought had the alk around 5DKH! Just when I thought I found a good salt
