What lighting did you decide on?
I can answer this.:) He went with a Giesemann Infinity fixture.

I went and picked up my return pump today.

And since I was in the mood, I went and picked up my foundation supports and the wood for my frame.

If I can make up my mind on the length I want to build the frame, I will probably break out the chop saw tomorrow and use this model to construct my frame.

I am planning on adding a center support in the front and dual supports in the rear. I did not want to put a center brace in the back because it would interefere with my center overflow design.

I will be sheeting the top of the stand with 3/4. I did go with the 2x6 as my top frame. I was thinking two perpendicular supports as I need to keep the center open for my drains and reutrns.

Since the tank does not have the plastic bracing, I will also be using styrofoam to help release the pressure.

What do you think?

What kind of surface are you going to put on the stand? I was thinking of a solid composite like Corian or another simillar product.

I did not do any construction this weekend. I want to talk to Lee Mar one more time before I make the cuts. You know, "measure twice, cut once".

Doug, I will most likely just sheet the top with a sheet of poplar or something of that grade. I will applying that piece before I skin the sides that way I can butt those two together and I will have a good nailer for my trim.

I got a couple great leads to a few cabinet shops here in town and I will be contacting them in the next couple of days to talk about maybe prefabing my doors.

I'll hop on the 30 deep bandwagon. Do it before it's built!
