It was hopeless long before Friday...trust me...

But he will be more than happy to talk the rest of you into taller and wider.

I agree as well. :) I paid for my tank on Friday.

But this would be considered an "upgrade"...I'm sure they'll be more than happy to take a little more money!

You guys are killing me. I don't have huge mansions like the rest of you. :) And here in Sacramento's real estate market, I do not think I will be upgrading anytime soon. This was a stretch for my wife as is, so I am just grateful for her support.

Then I guess it's too late for a little inspiration? :)

On a more serious note, I hear you. I, too, have a very supportive wife for our expensive hobby. And let's not bring up the real estate market in the Bay Area!

tbone- I just wanted to tell you that your build thread is very nice. I have been following it as it has progressed very nicely. Keep up the good work ;)

Thanks, Mark! I'm anxiously following yours as well. It's going to be a good one! I think our wives become more supportive after they see the results and also because the little ones love the tanks SO much!

Just found your blog...WOW, you've got some really nice pieces! Now I REALLY can't wait to see your new tank

My wife used to live in Maui and when we returned from our honeymoon in Bora Bora she wanted a reef tank. Needless to say, she did not know that it would turn into this.

Good stuff Mark! Cant wait to see some more progress. Hopefully one day i will upgrade from my 90 gal.

There are some amazing corals out there. My addictive collecting has forced me to upgrade. Thanks again

I like boxes :D

My new Calcium reactor arrived this afternoon. This thing is built like a tank. This is the first time that I have seen one in person and I am impressed.

I'm loving the footprint! I just bought a GEO 612 because of its small size and space limitations in my stand. That AquaC looks even smaller!

That is a good question. I really like the footprint of this product and that it will hold a lot of media. It is supposed to hold 8lbs of media. That is a whole bag of korralin media :) I also knew that AquaC makes a good product and when a friend and I were discussing this aspect of my build, he told me that I could not go wrong (Thanks Greg).

I also know that the output it pushes out is extemely high. That will be neccasary a few months down the road when things continue to grow. It is a simple design and there are no plastic screws to mess with. The screw on lid seems like it will only help when adding more media.

There are a few other things I liked about this reactor, but those are just a few. When I get things up and running, you are more than welcome to stop by.

I was thinking about my lighting options again last night when a friend stopped by. I am at a crossroads; Maristar or 3 lumenarc minis and a pair of 72" VHO's.

On one side, I know what colors I can get with the maristar fixture as that is what I use on my 90. I also like the all in one aspect of a fixture and I am getting a great deal on the fixture.

On the other side, I like the "pop" that vho's produce and there are more choices in bulbs as well. It would also be easier to upgrage to 400's if I wanted to in the future.

I will have to bounce this one back and forth over the next couple of days :crazy1:

I like the lumenarc minis and vho idea. I feel like that would give a better spread. Although, I would imagine the maristar would do the same...

Check some of the tanks with vhos.... Mako's is good one.
