My tubs Horrida :( This is what I was able to save so far. It went from a 4" little colony to this. One of the branches that I broke off is starting to heal over (where the algae is). This coral is very touchy and gives many reefers nightmares

mmmm baby, that nasuta is SWEET!!!

I had one of those gobies during my sand days, they are a real cool fish with some personality. Too bad he ended up as carpet jerky.

I'll email you that other goodie I was talking about earlier ;)

hey tbone, if every time I post a picture of my crap and you think it is for you, I'm ok with that :p

Jeremy. I was thoroughly impressed with their packaging. I have been receiving a lot of boxes lately, so I think I am somewhat qualified :)

Mark,
I thought you told me you were done with chalices ;)...nice additions. I will be interested to see that Robokaki as it grows up. Your fish shot a few pages back was gorgeous :D. Things are looking good.

You know me. I have stared at the robokaki enough at Johns, I finally got it. The oxypora has been on my list for awhile. I guess we will be adding another one here real soon as well :D

Nice. When you say Chris, I know who you are talking about. Us nikon guys stick together :D

I finally tested out

I finally tested out

KH-9 elos
CA- 400 elos
MG- 1300 elos
PO4- <.05 elos
NO3- <.20 elso
NO3- 15-20 API
NO2- O API
PH- Max today was 8.35, last nights low was 8.18

I recalibrated my refract tonoight and it tested at 1.024

All is all, this is decent. I will be throwing in some maglake tonight based off my calculations here
http://home.comcast.net/~jdieck1/chemcalc.html

I know my trates are a little high, but I have been feeding my tank 3-4 times a day to help the fish out. They are looking much better and still eating like champs. Next week I will start feeding a little more like I would normally. I really thought things would test even more off.

I try to keep my Mg anywhere above 1350, but when things are ionicly balaced, I like 425-450 Ca, 10 KH, 1400 Mg.

Mark, is a level of 1350-1400 a personal preference of yours? Do you see any beneficial effects at that level compared to the 1300 range?

I keep my tank around 1300 cuz that's what the guys over on the Reef Chemistry forum recommend.

What happens if your coral go thru a growth spurt in a week and suck out 50-100 of mag? Now you are closer to 1200. I guess it is a personal thing.

It is a personal choice, but stonies need ample Mg to remain healthy, especially monties which I enjoy. If things are working, don't rush to change things because someone else does it different. You are doing a lot of changes of late, see how everything responds then adjust from there ;)

I reread this and that is some funny advice coming from me as I just upgaded. :D

LOL, I get bored when I'm not *changing* something :D but, yeah, that's good advice. Things are growing, but not growing as fast and coloring up as fast as I'd like.
