I shoot for an mg level of 1400-1500. Here are my parameters:

Mg-1500
Ca-425
Alk-10.5 dkh
Nitrates-0

Like Reef Crystals salt

I had a little hair algae and read what a high mg level can do for the algae. It worked as I have no more hair algae at all. I've always kept my tanks alk between 10-12 dkh over the years. Not sure why, just feel like the acros like it best. I use IO salt.

So you mix salts? many reefers do that. which ones? I've been using Kent for years, but down to my last 3 bags, so considering a switch. I tried a free bag of Tunze salt, and it seems like a good salt with good numbers out of the bag.

I use magflake as to dose my mg

tbone- I have 4 Tunzes in my dislay, one in a qt and one to mix water.

Just so you feel better and can go on living, I did not get anything
