mark, what size is your frag tank? also, i assume you just have water running into the 90 degree pointed upward; how's the noise level like that?

Mark, are they acclimated yet? :)

Yep, and I am learning that the achilles is one of the meanest tangs on the reef :(

Its a 40 gallon breeder (36x18x16) with a 20 gallon sump. The noise is not too terrible since its in the garage. :)

thanks. kevin's picking up my new frag tank (36x18x12) tonight from mark. i was thinking of doing something similar plumbing wise.

I have my tank completely blacked out wrapped in towels. The fins are all tattered and each tang has skin lacerations.

I will re evaluate in the morning :(

That sucks. Hopefully, your achilles is just *testing* them.

Amanda asked if I put the towel up so I did not have to watch the massacre. :(

I am expecting the worse:thumbdown

Nope, its survival of the fittest. A couple of reefers who are more knowledgeable than me suggested the towel trick. They also suggested let them sort it out. Its hard to let nature run its course. I did not know the achilles was as bad as it is.

Terry- any other tricks to getting dominant tangs from battering the new additions.

They are just hiding in a corner next to a frag tray.

Thanks Jim, I am trying that as well.

I can actually see meat on the dussumier's laceration. The maculiceps is actually laying down in the frag tray. This sucks

I try to keep them distracted by feeding REAL heavy, and replace nori clips rapid fire - one sheet after another. I also reduce photoperiod on the lighting. They are less aggresive when the lights are out.
