Mark's the bus driver!!!

I bet there are a ton of members out there who wonder if any of us even have jobs!!! We're up on this site so much.....

It gets worse during football season..... I then split time between RC and my league page

Wow, I step out for a bit and look what I come back to! Emasculation threats from Davey(Yeah, that's what it'd amount to) and Mark as a long haired hippie bus driver!
RC would have no members if there was a 'Report this thread to wife/gf' button!!!!
Either that, or we'd all be liars and not saying what we truly meant.

Oh, real fine! Blame in on the baby...You're not the first one in the thread to have done that. Not even the second. Even better when you blame it on someone else's toddler!:D

SO , what happened to the pic?

Jeremy, glad to hear your sticking around. Also maybe the market will have picked up some by the time you go to sell

Mark, how's the tank looking?:D

Looks good from here

haha. One day Mark, I'm going to have to make it up there.

OH! I just thought a day.... what are you doing the 14th? i know, i know, it's a little far from now but I'll be in the area- over at the med center. :D

Isn't that a Wed? I will probably be working until 8pm, coming home to take the garbage out as Thursday is garbage day and finishing it up with an episode of ghost hunters.

Yeah. I'll be doing some guinea pig work for research. :)

You watch those shows??!!? :eek1:

That ghost stuff creeps the crap out of me! I think I'll stick my sports center...

Ghost Hunters rules!

Mark,

I've been thinking hard about what you said about your PH remaining high, even though you run a CaRx. I had a hard time keeping my Ph above 8 with my Geo without running the kalk Rx. I'm guessing the AquaC is so efficient that this would solve my problem? I was talking to Jason before he left the country about them, but didn't ask about the reactor's efficiency. What are your thoughts? :D

Mike, I run a GEO, and pH is stable at 8.2. I run my effluent into my fuge though. perhaps this gives enough time to drive off excess CO2?

That probably does help. I really don't have a fuge so that isn't an option for me.

Do you know if Greg uses a kalk reactor with his AquaC?

You could also drip your effluent into a cup with an airstone in it. And just let the effluent flow over the cup back into the sump.

Is your Reeflo 250 an internal skimmer? If so, you could run your effluent into the intake pump

The Reeflo is external. The intake pump sits just below the drain line from the overflow. I could easily run the effluent over to it.

I'm definitely going with an AquaC though. I love the design.

Mike, You would be very happy with the AquaC. I saw and H&S today and it was nice too. It also had the cool screw on lid. I will never use those little plastic screws again.

I took a drive today to see a very mature reef tank. It was very nice to see it in person and to chat a little about names like Dalton, Alex, Rich, Jesus and Eddie.

Its been a month since I've ran a full battery of tests so here are the results. I did my last water change 10 days ago, so I'll take these.

DKH-9.5
Ca-425
Mg-1400
NO3-10
PO4-<.05

(all elos kits)

My achilles is working through a little ich, but it is eating like a champ and still munching on the rocks. The good thing about starfire is that you can actually see it on the glass when the ich are in their hatching stage.

I lost my female rhomboids yesterday morning. I came out to do my morning feeding, I lifted the canopy, and there she was; all dried on the netting.

Two of my bartletts paired up and I believe they are getting ready to play some disco music because one of them has turn very territorial and has banished the third bartlett to the other side of the tank. I also believe that it was that bartlett that caused the rhomboid to get startled. Last week, I was pretty down on the tank so I was lazy and did not put the extra egg crate on the tank at night. :(

I started to think about my QT/dipping procedures and I have decided that I am going to set up a 40 gallon breeder in tha garage instead of my 2 20 gallons.

I am going to drill the 40 breeder for a side durso and plumb it into one of the 20 gallon tanks as a sump. I have a mag 3 laying around that I will use for a return and 2 modded 6025's for some flow. I have a 150 watt sunpod on my tank right now so I will continue to use that. I have a bakpak on a tank right now and I still have my RS 6-2 in the garage.

Its going to be pretty basic, but it needs to be done. What do you guys think? Do you guys have anything to add.

maybe a chromis or two 40 breeder, best investment you will make. sorry to hear bout your wrasse, she was real pretty though. as long the achilles is eating a lot i would continue to feed him until the stomach blows, soaked nori everyday. ich should be completely gone after 2 months. if they can pass the two stages of ich they will survive. i would hold off adding any fishes as of now until he gets a lot better and less chance of him picking a fight.
