Inverts are super-sensitive to drastic changes in water parameters. Measure your frag tank to compare with your display system. Things like shrimp and crabs should be slowly drip-acclimatized over at least a half hour.

If snails are eating it try a couple of conchs. They'll clean your substrate down below the surface, not just on top.

Yes, they are like great big long snails with the weirdest looking eye and mouth arrangement you've ever seen - very entertaining to watch. They will climb up on your rocks as high as they can get and clean the algae off of everything once the sandbed is cleaned up. I don't know why more people don't use them.

Not sure why I stopped getting updates to your thread... but glad to hear everything is coming along.
Lol what is the rest of your stocking list?
Use caution with flame and hippos will get huge, the rest is a good start.
I totally agree with Dave m. I have 3 fighting conchs in my tank and I love them and the way they move. I'm looking to find some queens to go along with them.Yes, they are like great big long snails with the weirdest looking eye and mouth arrangement you've ever seen - very entertaining to watch. Mark. Let me know if you need to borrow my acclimate. It's great for slow acclimating fish and inverts. Il be honest, these days with coral, I'm a little more lax with the acclimation process. I've always found inverts and fish to react more than coral. Nice first frag in the display.
