Mark's new build

amazing build so far. Love the dimensions, the lighting, the ceramic rocks, and those blue glow frag shelves! Very interested to see more.

I did some work yesterday on my stand. Originally I was going to build metal, but decided to go with wood since I had most of the wood from my old stand that I took apart. Took me couple of hours to build a frame, will be finishing it later this weekend. This is the look I am going for:

Stand is looking really good Mark. Can't wait to see the finished product. Have u considered lining the bottom and couple inches of the sides with acrylic?

I thought about this Nick, but I think I will do few coats waterproof paint and then silicone all seams. I will see how it looks then. I can always go the acrylic route later.

Getting closer to reality, I was able to do some work today and almost finish the stand. Also my good buddy Eddie did fantastic job putting background on my tank and sump. ( thanks Eddie ). Of course thread without pictures is worthless so here they are:

What you guys think about my aquascape? I like the bonsai, minimalistic style but I think there is still enough hiding spots for fish and a lot of place for corals. All rock is ceramic, the two purple ones are made by Ceramco and the two other by Aquaroche. I will put more rock in sump for biological filtration.

Everything looks amazing!

You dont think you could fill the left side a little more? I just know how I am, and I would want just a little bit more real estate for some coral, and more hiding/sleeping spots for fish.

Do you have a fish list in mind?

Thank you guys, the idea is to leave less rocks on left side as this is a viewing side too, I want more open space there for a cluster of few clams on the bottom. I don't want anything blocking their light. I also want to have kind of a sloped look to it, I think with corals growing in few months ( years) it will look full anyway.

Just goggled it, never knew it existed, some really fancy stuff. I don't think I need it. For dosing pump I was going to get the BM, but after research I found a lot of people replacing their pumps quite often. Decided to spend $100 and go with something that should last a while.
