Mark's upgrade to 120 Oceanic Tech

First fish in its new home.I got him from a friend's tank.It eats frozen and pellets..I always wanted one, glad I could find one that is already trained to eat.

Today I fired up my skimmer with new Bubble Blaster 3000 pump. This pump is a beast.I had to make temporary silencer out of plastic bottle ,because the original silencer was way to loud.I'll make better one out of PWC pipe over the weekend hopefully. This pump pulls some air.Much better than my stock Vertex pump. It needs to brake down for few days but it is pulling some gunk already.Slowly finishing my stand.I need to put black ceramic tile on top and it will be done. Also got my clowns back from a friend who was holding them for me.This Saturday I will get some of my corals back from my LFS that was holding them for me.

Time for an update,it's been a while.Unfortunately due to skipping quarantine I lost most of my fish in a matter of three days.I introduced ich with my Moorish Idol and since I am working so much now,I had no time to take my fish and put them in hospital tank.I guess I was hoping they will pull through it. No such a luck. Only fish left is my clown and magnificent rabbitfish. Also I could not stand sand in my tank. I took all out and going BB again. I like this look soooo much better, and it is so easy to keep it clean. I redid my aquascape too. I am much happier with it. All of my corals are doing great and growing again,I will have more coming in few weeks. Finally I was able to install my Kessils and I couldn't be happier with them. They add beautiful shimmer to my T5 fixture, looks very natural. I made three sided open top canopy for a cleaner overall look. Got a new skimmer SKIMZ SM 201 Monzter E-Series that is completely quiet and my wife is happy. My tank is in the living area and needs to be very quiet. Loudest things in my set up now are my Vortechs pumps. Speaking of Vortech, I sent my magnets out to replace them, since they were cracked and rusty. I could not believe it when I took the wet side apart to clean it. It is only 14 months of use.I was under impression that those are sealed to prevent this kind of things to happen.I hope EcoMarine will do right by me and replace those at no charge. Two months past one year warranty.I don't think this should happen.( very disappointing with a $450 pumps),imagine all this rust going in established SPS tank??? Somebody will be not happy if this happen to them. Right now I am considering going with Tunze pumps. I need to think about this little more. So this is it for now. Here some pictures.

looking good Mark! I'm sorry to hear about the misfortune of the fish and pumps. I went with tunze 6105s and couldn't be happier. I'm sure you'll bounce back in no time. Keep up the good work.

Sorry to hear about all the fish Mark. Do u run UV in your tank? I made a switch over to running it and I swear it makes a difference. Will never have another tank without one. Do u have a picture of just the spot lights? I've been looking for something to add to my metal halide.

Hi Nick,UV is on my list as next piece of equipment. I was not sure if I should run it,but I don't think it will hurt anyway.I will make new picture with only Kessils on for you .They give beautiful color and shimmer.I am very happy with them.

BTW A+ service from EcoTech Marine again.Got my replacement magnets no questions ask.Thank you EcoTech, best service in industry.
