Maroon Eating my anemone?? HELP!

I am new to reefing, so please don't get mad if i have done something ignorant! :(

I have a 125 gallon tank with lots of corals that I bought off a friend. I got a maroon clownfish that is rather large and I also got an atlantic anemone from the LFS. I think it is a condalactis (sp?).

The Maroon instantly paired up with the anemone as a host and never goes more than 6 inches away from it. I have been told that this is rare for an atlantic anemone.

The other day I noticed something that looked like little purple worms on the sand. The next day I looked and the maroon was chewing at the tentacles of the anemone!! does this mean that I am not feeding the maroon enough? What should I do???

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!:D

Sounds like its being a maroon ;). Maroons can both be fairly hard on their anemones and they like to suck and chew on the tentacles. They're almost like little kids sucking and chewing on their own personal security blankie. :D

Agree, Some maroons have been known to kill their anemones. Its also like a child who plays too rough with his toys and then they break. What can you do?

Maroons will be Maroons

How big is the maroon compaired to the anem? If your gonna have a maroon in an anem it is sugested to have an anem MUCH larger than the maroon because of how rough they are on them.

The anem. is not much larger than the maroon. the maroon is pretty big. I didnt think that originally it would be a problem because i thought there was no way that a maroon would pair up with a condy.

This is actually a question I was about to ask. I was told that a Maroon clown is the only one that will pair with a condy. Is this true?
