maroon - sand question

I have a maroon clown that is about 2 inches in size. He looks to be in great shape. Loves to eat, good personality, and suprisingly friendly. He also loves to "dig". I have about 3" of sand through out the bottom of my tank. He found a pseudo-cave between the live rock and glass and has basically started digging it out. So far he has moved about 1.5 inches of sand from his "house".

Is that normal? What the heck is he doing?

Ok cool. Its kind of funny to watch sometimes. He will pick up a mouth full, spit it out, and then turn around and move it to this new mound he appears to be building.

yep itll continue until its happy. my guess is it wants to swim thru the cave to the back and back around. messy sometimes. mine started doing it agian recently. before i moved i had a 0-8 inch sand bed she moved so much lol

My maroon is very teritorial...does not allow me to move corals into his "territory!" Will head butt them into an avalanche if I do...I have learned to respect his "space." LOL

LOL, and they just get worse. Mine doesn't allow me to do anything in the whole tank.

My maroon would do the same thing for a while. watching him pick up the sand and spit it out is so much fun lol. he doesn't do it anymore though, he goes through little phases.
