Maroun.c 390 G build thread

Time for some fish pics.
Luckily since introduction the tangs have been behaving, the only fights that happened is continuous fighting agains their shadows the first few days.
The back Rt corner was the most common site for those fights not sure if the overflow behind the acrylic is adding to the reflections...
Only wish I had the remaining tangs on my fish list for a one time introduction...

One lone Stocky anthia, many others to join when tank passes the initial period.

Whip fin wrass. Always putting on a hell of a show of colours and shapes by stretching and fighting with its reflection wish I didin't lose the female.

Hyppo tang,
This fish was huge in my old 150G, now it's just a tiny fish.

Fish don't look their best as they've been through a tough move followed by months in the sump. I'm sure in few weeks with TLC they'll look much better.

Wanted to add more fish but I'm still afraid the tank could undergo a bigger cycle that I want and additional fish wouldn't help.
so far the only thing I'm getting is mild diatom bloom on the rocks, was afraid the ceramic will leach phophates and silicates and get covered with more alga but so far they're very similar to dried LR even the large piece I couldn't cure...

Yellow tangs and purple tang are doing a good job picking on the diatoms.

1st Feeding wasn't the usualy Frenzy these fish would usually have at feeding time, and even after 2-3 weeks the fish ain't aggressive on feeding as they used to be. Not sure if they gott he habit of being surrounded with food in the holding tanks and sump!!

And to end the FTS for Jan 2012
Not much but a tank with few fish but it's been some time without a tank running at home and it just feels good to be able to look at some fish swim finally.

Looks good Maroun...slow is the way to go. :)

Any concerns adding new fish w/all the tangs down the line ?

Yes with some of the fish on the list. In a worst case scenario when the tank is ready and I find all the non tang safe fish I have in minds I can take the tangs out to the sump for few days/weeks and reintroduce all together...

Looks like everyone was having fun! congrats on water!

You have any pics of your "fish room"?

Yeah it was fun. Now the kids keep asking when are we adding fish again!!!
The fishroom will be added in a second stage, (have to start with a sump and installing chiller and other equipment there...)
So far tank is running with a sump beneath it holding skimmer and reactors and a couple of fuges and water change tank. Will post pics of it when I fly back by end of this week.

LOL
No that's made specially for fish and I got it from the LFS.
Not sure if there ever was a Bong large enough to hold a large hyppo tang.

I'm in. Very cool getting a view into reefing in an entirely different part of the world!

Great setup!
