MARS Garage Sale and BBQ

Space Limitation

Space Limitation

No more than 25 square foot area for goods. A 3 X 8 folding table is about as big as you can go.

The folding plastic tables you commonly see at CostCo are 3 X 6 and would be fine.

If anyone wants more space check back on the 24th.

Think this garage sale and the regional swap should be stickied up top. At least a >bump< to get it off the third page back ;)

Brian, I will try to make it, but will not need a space as I won't be able to stay long enough to sell the few items I have.

I wont to come too...

I wont to come too...

Thats awsome, local people :D

I have been looking for local people ever since I got my reef going. I am from Woodland...I even saw another woodland person up there. I love forums but I really want face to face interaction too. I will try to be there if I can. Hope to see you all there

Oh wow.... I just went through the stuff I need to get rid of. Wow! I can tell you that if you ever needed to pick up test kits, supplements, used bulbs, small pumps, lights, sumps, chillers, tons of odds and ends - hell even 2 full tank setups (probably wont bring those but can bring pics of them and you can come back to my place if you are interested). Its like a used reef store blew up around me when I was not looking. It all must go to make room for more! :D

I will also be looking to pick up some larger equipment - need 2 decent skimmers, 1xUV, mid size sump, and anything for really large systems. Bring out the goods!

Would anyone be intrested in a trade? I have a nice set of all clay WSOP poker chips (there are abour 1350 of em, no case though). I need some test kits and 2-3 power heads. I have maxi-jet 1200's, but I dont care what brand they are as long as they work. If anyone is intrested let me know.

Im kinda short on cash at the moment. I just got out of the Army, and have not been at my new job long. I plan on joining MARS as soon as I can save up a little. Its so nice to finally find some local people to talk to :)

Steven

I'm not going to be able to make to the swap like I had thought. Iwas really looking forward to meeting you guys. I will have to see you all at the regional frag swap. Hope I can meet all of you there.

Anybody have some old smaller canister filters lying about with decent cartridges? I am looking to pick up a portable filtration system for an upcoming diving trip to Florida. I will need to seed the cartridge ASAP so I a looking to pick up a couple this weekend at the garage sale.

See you there!

First, thanks go out to John at Your Reef for hosting the site for our first garage sale. It was a small turnout, but it was our first attempt at doing this. I for one had a good time just talking with everyone that showed up. There were some really great deals on some nice used equipment. We will try to do this again when it's not so hot and we will try to get the word out to more people.

Here are some pictures if you missed it.

Thanks John Dakan for letting us use your parking lot.
Thanks Paul Bettito for helping coordinate everything.
Thanks Karen Manly (& Pat) for bringing the food.
Thanks Bruce Azzarito for helping with the setup, cooking, pictures (or was that Ed?) & teardown.
Thank Larry Robison for helping with the setup & cooking.

It was nice just hanging out for a bit. Gettng some of the stuff out of my garage was an added benefit.

Mike, thanks for the great deal on the Poseidon PS4 pump and the pH calibration packs.

The attendance was a little light. We, the board, expected the new members would be all over this. Next time we'll adverstise outside the club a bit more.

The other message I took away from this is that the members want to have more purely social events.

Thanks everyone who made the event possible. It was nice being able to just hang out and talk to people.

Brian - purely social events would be nice. :D
