MARS Protein Skimmer DIY

Brian,

I have the 1/2 x 1/4 elbows now. Not sure if anybody wants to change theirs out,but if they do I can get them to you or to the people that need them.

Dave

Hey Dave

The bigger pumps (Mag 9.5 vs Mag 7) messed my previous design up a bit. It is too heavy to mount on the side of the skimmer.

I've got a design with the pump sitting on the ground. It has a little bigger footprint and uses a true union instead of hose barbs.

I'm buring one in. We're going to meet the Saturday after next to finish.

Hey All

The Tee eliminators are not leaking. I installed them backwards the first time. I'm leaning toward a design with the Tee eliminators and true unions.

At the DIY session, a couple of us were talking about the SawStop. You can find more info at the saw at http://www.sawstop.com/index.htm . There's a pretty cool "Hot Dog Demo" on the site. Cost of the saw is $2799 - although they been promising to come out with a cheaper - but it's still vaporware.

Wow! That is cool technology!

Brian - I ordered the MAG9. Thanks for the lead on the source. Did I recall correctly that a 100gph pump would suffice to t'fer water to/from sump?

Thanks

SawStop is an incredible solution to a great need! Amazing technology.

Brian,

Did you build a skimmer for me or am I just picking up the parts?
