MARS Winter 2015 Your Reef SPS and Zoa Grow Out

My Apologies for not getting this up sooner. I have a total of three options for everyone to choose from. Now as said before this is mostly to encourage a sense of reefing community not purely for the winner to get a prize there for the rules are going to be very laxi-dasical. The prizes will also be smaller it is mostly about having fun.



Option 1 Zoa

Option 2 SPS browned out challenge

I dont have a picture but they will be sizable frags off a wild Australia colony that came in a few months ago. It came in bright blue and purple it has been in the Your Reef farming system since but the color has not returned yet. So if you are up for a challenge this is for you.

Cost will be $10



Option 3 SPS mystery

John just made a trip to LA. He will select one of the nicest wild Australian colonies to frag up he brought back to cut up.

Cost will be $25



If you would like to participate please post which frags you would like. Also please post if you will pick up at the MARS meeting tomorrow or if you will be picking up at Your Reef within the next week. Pick ups need to occur by 12/24. If you want you can choose all three but it sounds like most are going with the first two options. Totally up to you though.

So I did the Zoas. I have to take it out to count the polyps to get an exact count but it looks about 7 polyps. Wasn't sure if you're going to start a separate thread for grow out pics and updates. So I'm posting my first here.

Sounds great Moragn. You can pick up the pieces this week at Your Reef they are closed on Mondays though. Also I located the MARS par meter.

I saw that sps colony when it came in. It was an awesome like blue ice. Looked like a gemmifera. I wish i could participate but I'm going to be starting a new tank and transferring everything to the new build. I'm afraid there will be casualties.
