Mate for C. interrupta

Wayne,

It's an introduction I would be happy to make. I think you would enjoy their facility. I just checked with Scott and they are happy to help with this project. And they have the commercial Fedex and the facilities to pack the fish.

Sounds like everything is working out nicely. Its amazing how everyone is doing all they can to help out, really cool!

Wayne- I think a stop over at your place before heading to Hawaii would be beneficial and I appreciate you offering it up. (And if you change your mind you can send her right over).
I do not have the donation site up yet and am hoping for the paypal verification tomorrow. Then I just have to activate the site, (and hope that nothing pops up telling me I'm not done yet). Those pop ups drive me crazy!
I will reimburse you for all of your costs and let me know the best way to do that.

And thanks to Dave B for setting up the packing!

It's so cool that there are so many people with connections here and it's all fitting together!

The interruptus will be in a big box already with plenty of water.
Wayne can ship it as soon as he received it. He is not far from SDC.
Scott can probably ship it too.

Or let it acclimate in your tank then ship it just get some ice pack and plenty of oxygen.

I don't think anyone is worried about getting reimbursed, just this get off the ground. Not going to lie though I can't wait to see if you get any babies I can get from you!

Ok, sounds good Karen. When I pick her up, I'll acclimate her to my system. Once she's eating well I'll arrange shipment to you. Hopefully it'll only take a week, maybe two.

This is awesome!

I love it when a plan comes together. Great work everyone. It just goes to show what can be done when like minded people decide to make something happen!

Good luck Karen with your efforts!! I wouldn't mind donating to other projects you have going, bandits, latz, etc or future efforts. let me know if there is anyways to help!

Dave

Great thread and a wonderful opportunity for the hobby. I'll definitely chip in $100 when the donation is set up.

Another option is ordering from Taiwan. I know some hobbyists there and am pretty sure they would be willing to help facilitate. Taiwan does seem to get some rare fish at 1/2-1/3 the retail price of US and Japan prices.

The fish will be coming from blue harbor so its properly acclimated and the price is 1/3 of the price than retail.

Also as a back up plan I can ask Aaron from SPS store to sell his 4" female since its for a great cause. In return I want to buy a juvenile interuptus if they ever hatch and thrive in captivity.

The donation page is finally up!

It is on indiegogo.com, under animals and titled "a girlfriend for Fabio"
Here is the link

I made a change in that I went from fixed funding to flexible funding. This means that if we do not make our goal we still keep what has been donated (minus 9% to indiegogo) rather than having it refunded which I had wanted to do originally. I changed to the flexible funding since we have already started spending our money before we've earned it. Yikes! but she'll be worth every penny!!

When the first young interrupta has settled out as a juvenile we will have a celebration and a "prize".:bounce2:

Thanks to all of you this has already been an excellent adventure and it's only the beginning!!!!

The video of the baby Bandits eating plankton was really cool! Please let me know when a pair is ready for a new home.

This is some amazing work you're doing Karen! I know this Interrupta project will be successful for you Karen. Good luck!
