Mate for C. interrupta

I've been working half the day trying to get those videos on the blog to show correctly and I'm about as frustrated as I can get. I'll keep at it or I may switch to a new blog site that's better suited to my abilities....

Anyway, I wanted you to be able to see the videos so here are links to youtube

This is the introduction of the C. joculators and C. acanthops which didn't go well. There is a nice hole in that base rock and the fish are fighting over rights to it.

Tensions escalate between the four fish.

The two "pairs " are separated and here are the jocs with Connie letting Jaws know that he can be the dominant fish.

Here are Jaws and Connie with their tankmates, the mandarin pair.

And here are the acanthops in their temporary home after they were separated from the jocs.

Today is a much better day with both pairs are doing well and getting along nicely.:love2:

Thank you for the links. They all look happy in their new homes. Although it sounds like your cat is craving some attention too ;-)

Thanks for sharing...I knew my lil female fb was a tough fish but wow! sorry Jaws! The best part of that clip was the last 2 seconds where Connie, the smaller Joc, claimed the cave as the trio was fighting elsewhere, go Connie!:spin1:

That's so funny that you hear my cat. I'm not getting any sound.
Moxie is 19 years old and deaf and forgets that she just got fed. She's a sweet old girl.

Wow, Moxie is 19. My parents had a cat that was still catching mice at 20yrs.
Ok, anyone going to MACNA that want to meet up, send a PM with your phone #, I have acesq's number. I have a real old phone so a phone, that not very good for texing.
By the way, we can all suggest to next years MACNA group that Karen sould be a speaker on this project ( if she is willing to do it). And any one on the west coast could suggest it to there club.

John, Im flattered that you think I should be a speaker at MACNA and I want to share all the info on this project but I am a terrible speaker. I get so nervous up in front of an audience that it's more comical than informational!
I also have a fear of flying and haven't been outside of Hawaii in years. Good thing I love this rock in the middle of the Pacific!

I hope you all have a great time at MACNA. I wish I could hear some of the speakers and meet all of you in person. And if any of you come through Hawaii you'd better let me know!

Karen

He was the king bully of our tank for a while, so a little taste of his own medicine is probably a good thing and fish karma. :spin3:

Maybe the next MACNA can be in Hawaii?

I like that idea!

Mike and Nicole- You will be so proud of Jaws. He is becoming such a gentleman! I don't know if it was the message he got from Ted's flameback female or finding love with Connie but he has become a model citizen! He hasn't done any chasing in the last couple days and lets Connie follow him around like a puppy. They are really cute together.
