Mate for C. interrupta

Oh no, I may have been guilty of fish porn in the past!:worried:

I'll try to get some new video. Faith and Fabio do the actual spawning in the dark but I can get some of their dance moves.

I'll try to get some current video od Jaws and Connie with the bandits and of the flame backs who live with the mandarins.

If you all want me to tell you what the blonde larvae possibilities could be, I'll fill you in. I don't know what she is for sure and thought it would be a fun surprise to see what she settles into.:crazy1: It's up to you.

I am very curious, if you dont want to tell everyone, can you PM me the answer

Congratulations with the recent success. Sounds like everything is coming together nicely

I'll post the info here since I'm sure there are others just as curious!

If anyone doesn't want to see: Stop reading now.

The eggs for this larval run were taken from two tanks. One has the flameback angel pair and a pair of mandarins. The other has the P. venusta pair, Red Sea Regal Angel pair and a single Multibar Angel.
I know it's not the mandarins.
I did see the flamebacks spawn and I think we had them at the beginning of the larval run but lost them if they were the larvae with the longer bodies.
I did see the venusta spawn.
I know what I'm hoping the little blonde is"¦... it's a long shot but one can dream.
And whatever she is, I'll just be happy when she settles out!

Hey, Karen, I'm a lurker on this thread. I missed out on the fundraising, but love the work your doing.

I'm excited to see what the blonde settles out as.

Whatever she is, that is pretty awesome Karen to have that many angels spawning!
I cannot wait to see her continue to grow!
Now I'm even more excited!

Just watched your latest video update. The "kids" look great. Do you expect them to be settled soon or do you consider the 5 "settled" at this stage?

This thread & your work have been such an inspiration. Not really much more to say than that.

I wish you continued success, and I'm looking forward to more people trying the "impossible"!

I'm glad you're all a part of this and excited about it! :spin3:
The little golden blonde larva is growing and she has been moved to the 40 gallon breeder with the rest of her tank mates. I'm hoping they will get through their metamorphosis in this more natural environment and it also means less work for me with the daily water changes and larval tank cleaning!

acesq: I haven't actually seen the regal angels spawn but the female does sometimes look hydrated especially lately.

Alberta-newb: I hope they settle soon! I had thought that the P. venusta might have a shorter larval phase since Frank B's mutibars settled out fairly early. The venusta could be different or it could be my methods. I hope it's my methods so that there is room for improvement and larval duration can be shortened. I'll consider the larvae settled when they have juvenile coloration. Can't wait to see blue and yellow!

Karen, have you ever attempted C. aurantia?
So excited to be following your progress. thanks for all of the updates!

I don't think she has worked with them yet? However I'm obtaining my broodstock right now and my main focus will be on golden dwarf angels :)

They seem so close to being considered baby angels. I have a feeling Humaguy is getting a little anxious with all the amazing progress with your breeding, we all know how much he likes the smallest possible angel he can find.

Amazing work Karen
