Mate for C. interrupta

I've seen several people asking for offspring... Have you gotten to the point of actually having a list of interested people? I'm not sure some of us are joking...

Might be easier to have a list of people who don't want captive bred angels. ;)

Some good news to distract us from waiting on the blonde larva is that Faith and Fabio had a larger spawn last night/this morning. They made me work for it by spawning at 1am! Many eggs have dropped out already but we'll see how the rest of the eggs do today. This could be the start of next interrupta larval run"¦.

Awesome news Karen, Woot:bounce1:

Thank you Karen, but I've got time to wait now. I had a major catastrophe happen over the weekend. The corner seal in my acrylic tank burst and about a hundred gallons paired out. Luckily I was rear by when it happened so I was able to save most of all the corals and fish. Everything is in my shallow reef now while I have a new and improved tank/system built. So hopefully F&F will have a little brood by the time I'm up and running again.

Sorry to hear Wayne, I don't even want to know what a hundred gallons looks like on the floor. Glad you were lucky enough to be close by.

Wayne, You were so lucky to have been home for your tank catastrophe. I'm glad you could save everyone. I thought that acrylic tanks were almost indestructible? I've sworn off large glass tanks due to two leak experiences. Now I wonder which are safer?

Faith and Fabio fooled me again! The spawn night before last was 1500+ eggs and not a single fertile egg. Last night, no spawn. We've still got the new moon on Thurs. so I'm still thinking positive!

I don't yet have a list going of people interested in purchasing the venusta angels. I'm glad people are interested in them and any funds that are gained from them will go back into fish rearing. The venusta haven't gone through full metamorphosis yet and I don't want to jinx them by planning too far ahead.:crazy1::uhoh3:

Thanks for answering my question Karen.:) Sorry to hear about the lost.
Have you ever dissect one of these small fish to see how its organs where developing?
To understand the nutritional needs of these fish at this stage so you don't get loses.Would be a great learning curve for sure. Thanks for the updates on Goldie I am pulling for her to come threw and make it so we can see what fish she really is. Always the Best.

Thanks for the latest update. It seems odd that the adult coloration is taking so long in comparison to the one's I read about from RCT. If the golden is a Venusta x multibar, I would think it would've shown color first. The difference in the days it took for each p./centropyge to settle out is very interesting. Great to hear the Venusta have spawned once again and I hope we see Interrupta and Bandit soon!

I also thought P. venusta would be relatively fast in development since Frank's multibars were settled at 40 something days. The P. venusta were quite rapid in development during the first month but then slowed. I must be missing something and hope to improve on that. The color development has been painfully slow! They are however looking more like an actual venusta now so I've updated the blog and posted this video taken three days ago at 103 days old. There is also a video posted on the blog of the golden/blonde at 98 days old.
