Mating PVC To Oceanic Bulkhead

hey guys, i'm setting up all the plumbing for my 58 RR Oceanic w/ overflow, and i'm trying to figure out how the heck to connect PVC to the supplied oceanic bulkheads. I have no idea, I'm totally stumped. the Oceanic bulkheads that came with the tank all have barbed endings for hose, rather than pipe. Any advice would be awesome.

Thanks
Charles

Charlie, unless oceanic has changed their bulkeads in the last year you should have the bulkhead and the barbed adapter as two seperate pieces. You have two choices, you can either glue your pvc directly into the bulkhead and just leave out the barbed fitting (will work but not the greatest idea) or you can just buy 2 new bulkheads that are threaded inside so that way you can buy a male pvc adapter and you can screw your pvc in instead of glueing into the bulkhead(i would recommend this way).

I bought 72 gal oceanic RR bow front last Dec. The overflow kit has two bulkheads with removable barb fitting. I returned the tank and got a 90 gal oceanic RR bow front instead. It came with three bulkheads with fixed barb fitting. I have to buy two bulkheads for PVC plumbing.

Wow, kind of odd that oceanic would have done that. When I got my tank in Dec. 04 it came with 2 bulkheads and removeable barb fittings. I suggest ditching them anyway and getting threaded bulkheads instead.
