This is the very reason that I never buy anything from RC that needs to be shipped to me.

Perhaps a lot of us are, or have been, naive for having placed our trust in other people here on RC but really it all boils down to just that: trust. Most of us take it for granted that the person we're doing business with will honor their word but unfortunately people like this guy come around from time to time and pull a shenanigan that makes other people such as yourself reluctant to even consider doing business here. And that's too bad although I don't fault your rationale in the lease. I for one have bought many items here on RC without ever having to deal with the likes of this con artist. I think I speak for many other reefers as well.

Glad this is not the wild west. Yea he has made major mistakes and they are indefensible, but in this country we presume innocence before guilt. He is already getting a major flamming on alot of other forums. Picture request is over doing it big time.

I think you guys should just let it go already. People make mistakes and I'm pretty sure he learned from it already.

Pictures and law enforcement is over board if you ask me. The buyer made a big mistake by not asking for pics and the seller made a big mistake by sending the item with water.

They both are at fault in some way and I think they both should work this matter out privately.

Its simple... If you don't like this guy and what he did then STAY AWAY FROM HIM! Its kinda like that snipersps thread. Everyone started talking crap about him on the thread but, As soon as he posted and told his side, everything turned out to not be as bad as the thread starter posted.

I dont know this guy Mattmike and can careless about him. I just don't think something like this should prohibit us users to be able to purchase and trust sellers here.

Another thing that I don't agree with is banning him from the SFVR club without hearing his side. Lets remember that its us reef hobbyist who make our clubs. Did he do anything to the club to get terminated? If so, Then yes terminate him. If not, Hear his side.

I hope they both learned a valuable lesson here and make better decisions when making a purchase on RC.

With Ebay positve Buyer's feedback is important. I don't care if there's a few negative feedbacks if most of the feedback is positive. With Mattmike I haven't seen or heard any positive feedback for him. At least with Snipersps many people had positive feedback for him

Very True but, my point was to at least let the guy tell his side for us to better understand the situation.

I respect everyones opinion and IMO I would hate for members to lose out on a good purchase because of what happened here. I hope he gets his refund or They work things out without going overboard.

Hey, anybody can sell what ever they want, but you can't just dismiss theft and lying because someone is young. If he wants to apologize and return the funds to the person who he ripped off, then he will have learned a lesson, but until then, I say post his photo and any info available so he can be avoided. The reason the hobby thrives and the reason this site exists is because there is a community of like-minded people interested in trying to advance this hobby. When someone comes in and poaches, steals and misrepresents, it takes away from this. No trial necessary!

How can other people "stay away" from him if they don't know what he looks like?

I haven't been active here lately, so I'm little out of the loop but it's really a shame that there are "reefers" who pull these kind of stuff on fellow reefers in such a small community. This is terrible and I hope they get it resolved.

i never said he should be banned from SFVR i just told Conrad and Richard that Matt should resolve his issues before we (as SFVR) can be associated with him.
and the issues he have with Jeff/ jabel is a big deal to me because he is a great guy to be taking advantage off plus i recommended him to Jeff!
