MAX CAP Users

For those running the Max Cap, I would like to know what kind of TDS reading you have coming out of it.

I won a Max Cap when they had the DMS Event (AUG 26) and hooked it up but I ran my TDS off the DI. Today, I switched it around to check the TDS off the Max Cap and was surprised to see a reading of 9.

My TDS off the Membrane is 14.

Using the in line TDS meter it reads 0, but only after 2-3 minutes. At startup every time it reads 3-4 then flushes out. So I re-direct the first couple minutes into waste.

Did you follow the directions and flush the MAXCAP cartridge? IIRC it started off around 20 then dropped.

TDS In: 750-550ppm
After RO: 8-4ppm
After MaxCap: 2-0ppm

These are levels after a few minutes. I run my RO membrane into waste until it reaches about 20ppm, then send it into the MaxCap, the highest it ever reaches out of MaxCap is 6ppm, and only for about 20-30 seconds.

You MUST flush max cap for about 5 mins first : )

The MaxCap needs a flush of about 3 or 4 bed volumes in the beginning. After that it should be 0 within 30 seconds or less in most cases.

Thanks everyone. I talked to Skip and since I have been making mucho water the Max Cap is nearing its end. Skip said when it hits 75% of the RO TDS it is time to get a new one.
