Max NO3 Level

Hi All,

At what level would NO3 be bad for an anemone ?

hard to know, I just got a blue carpet from a fellow reefer, and in this tank carpet came from , he told me his nitrates read between 100 - 200 , I know hard to believe.

15ppm and my haddoni never should stress but when it hit 20-30ppm it would deflate alot more often and show stress.

hard to believe when I was a novice I got an anemone magnifica and my nitrates were off the charts and it survived for a year.

So I guess the number is around 20 ppm then. Im at 2.5 ppm so should be ok then.

I've heard 15ppm. If they are happy, I wouldn't worry about it.

Nitrate test kits are notoriously inaccurate, so take the comments from folks with that in mind. They may have nitrate far higher or lower than they think.

I don't normally bother to measure nitrate, so when I report that my anemones are fine, there's no ambiguity.
