Maxi-Jet 1200 / A.T.O.

I am in the process of making my own auto top off system and I'm curious about head pressure. I have a 35gallon barrel that I am using for storage. It is about 29inches tall. I came across a good deal at my LFS for a Maxi Jet 1200 and I jumped on it. I figured I could go get some small diameter poly-vinyl tubing and just lower my pump to the bottom of the barrel. Will this pump have enough "umph" to do the job? It doesn't have to be a strong flow to work, just enough to get at least a trickle.

MaxiJet 1200 should give you enough "umph" for the ATO.

I've been using it for water change with the overhead of more than 3ft ever since I started.
