Maxi jet Mod vs. Nano Streams: Noise and Flow

Just curious what type of noise I should expect from a nano stream.

Id especially like to hear from those that have owned maxi jets (900s) both stock and sure flow modded. Is either noticeably quieter than the other. If possible, Id like to remove the slight hum that is associated with the mj.

Also, is the wave form lmuch larger and softer than a maxi mod? The sureflows do move a lot of water, but it is much more focused than I would like.

I will be running a shallow tank and would be prefer a soft gentle (and maybe pulsing) "breeze" than a pair of torrents ripping through the tank.

IMO, you will be very happy with the Nano's. They were much quieter than the Maxi-1200's that I had with the Eco Mod kits on them.

I have the 6045 and the 6025 and love them both.

I run 3 6055's.... it's pretty much silent.

ken, are you pulsing the 55's? any difference in noise when they are and are not pulsing? ie, can you hear them ramp up and down?

I'm running 2 6055s and you can hear them change speeds, doesn't bother me though.

they run alot quiter then the maxi jets with mods i just swapped out 2 maxi mods with tunze's. greta flow and super silent.

Yes, I am pulsing them, and I don't notice any discernable noise from them. I guess it depends on the overall noise of your system. As far as the Elos systems go, they're pretty quiet.
