last nite i got my 2 sureflows 1600s. installation was ok. i didnt have superglue put i was able to secure the backplane on the hanging bracket with 3 cable ties.. its nice cause i can remove it by cutting them off. i have pics and i will post them later after work.
also sliding the bracket into the mj1200 was troublesome cause you have to clean and scrape off the coraline so that it will slide all the way in.

the performance was good, noticable improvement. the flow is wide. its a good buy, wish i had a bit more but i dont think if it did 2000 gph, it would not be any better.

now the first sure flow i installed, performed flawlessly, no noise, no chattering, could even tell a mod was on. real happy with this. the second one, YIKES, mj rattles, all kind of noise and chattering. you can see the MJ1200 moves in circular motion exactly like a really bad tire balance. its exactly that, its out of balance.

i checked it and say nothing out of place, since its a balance issue, some piece is off. i let it run for a few hours and every once in a while the balance comes in and out so i will get noisy chattering and then humming. the first one, nice quite not even a hum. it did this all night. i dont think an unbalance tire will eventully balance itself on the road, so do you think this sure flow will?

Just a quick FYI.... I will be receiving a couple Triton Aquatics - Gulf Stream II kits soon and will test these against the Sureflow kits I have.

Their prices are certainly very good
the GS2 medium flow kit for $14.99 and the GS2 high flow for $15.99 plus s/h.

To be continued....

I'll have the new sureflow bigger prop to test too, its suppose to be disigned for the maxi 1200... stay tuned

mine doesnt hum as much anymore, just takes a while

When is the larger (2000 gph) sureflow supposed to be available?

I am not sure, but I will be beta testing it soon.

Are the new larger Sureflow kits still using the one piece shaft/propeller? I wonder if they finally got wise and took my advice to them on that and make the propeller interchangeable.

I am not sure, they are sending it to me so as soon as I get it, I will take pictures and show it to you(assuming that they allowing me to do that). I think the two piece idea is a good one.

Really it is rather silly to make the propeller one piece with the shaft. By doing so you're just making your manufacturing process that much more difficult. Why even design and MAKE a propeller at all when you can simply allow your users to mix and match propellers to cater to the flow requirements.... Kinda like trying to reinvent the wheel if you will :)

Mine is very quiet. It made a slight hum the first night but after sliming up a little it stopped. I’m using the SureFlow mount with their magnets.

HTH
