On a side note, I just cleaned one of my Sureflow mod kit and the mount broke
I wasn't even close to being rough on it either.
It broke cleanly where the little shaft is connected to the ball joint so there will be no easy/feasible way to fix it.
I've had 2 of these mounts break in exactly the same spot, and they broke while they were running IN THE TANK! When they broke, the pump ended up hanging with the propeller aimed down into the sand. It clouded the water horribly. Luckily everything was ok.
When it broke the first time, I called up the company immediately and they sent me 2 replacements in short order, which was very nice of them.
I am running the pump off of a Red Sea wavemaker. It is possible that the vibration when it turns on is what caused the issue.
My possible solution is to drill into the ball and into the end of the other piece and slide a stainless steel rod into both ends and then seal it up with epoxy.
Until then, I've taken the sureflow out of my tank and I replaced it with a Koralia 4. Of course, the Koralia can't be used on the wave maker at all.
