1600gph that is a lot of flow for a small pump sound great is like tunze 6060,I want 4 for my tank but I was reading and a lot of u g guys have problems with this mods is this really worth it ???

thanks

I thought your GS2 was stalling, did you fix it? I have one that does the same thing.

The hum is much louder on the GS2 than the Sure Flow, but I have the Sure Flow on a MJ 900 and is Quiet, but only pushes 1600 gph.

Well, my final thoughts on this whole new mj mod stuff going on. All work just fine. the eco is my least facorite but still works just fine. The sureflow comes in right before that one as just being mediocre but both are good for a 48" tank. The G2 is great, its not quite as convenient as the eco or sureflow, but man the flow is awesome. But after getting the new sureflow high flow prop.....no question I like it the best. For 19.99 you get the magnet all installed, you just pop it in and bam, over 2000gph. It is flowing just as much as my G2, if not more. I love these things.

I had a new MJ in the box ,which I opened up and put the mod on, while the other magnet is being cleaned. I don't have any hum on the G2. We will see if the noise is different because once that other MJ is clean I will be modding that one too.

Any idea of the cheapest wave maker device that can work with these pumps?

The seio controller will work with any of these pumps

I installed a modded 1200 maxi in my 75g two weeks ago. It blew stuff all over the tank and though I finally placed it to not wreak havoc, I can't imagine two of 'em. They really put out! Noise was not an issue. I bought some magnets from K&J but it took four of them to hold the thing down. I'm fairly certain it outperforms the Koralia 4.

I'll be interested to hear more about flow with the smaller maxis. Pehaps that would be a solution for a second pump. Great to hear they still work with a wave timer.:)

Luke, where did you get the new high-flow SureFlow's from? Premium Aquatics? I checked their site and the only ones I see are the original 1600GPH mods.

They were supose to out by now they just might not have listed them yet. just Call PA ask them and let us Know what they say.

Otherwise I bought the 1600 and asked the manfacture to send me the 2500 prop. They sent mine fast.

Thanks Roland! Are you pretty impressed with yours so far? What size is your tank and how many are you running? I'm setting up my 220 and just happen to have 3-4 MJ1200's laying around, so I figure I'll give the high-flows a try.

Gary

The high flow's are great, for a 220g i'd do 3-4 depending on what your keeping. I have two in my 125g and 800-1000gph coming from my sump. So a pretty good flow, but my sand stays on the bottom and my fish seem happy. I really like the new sureflow. I don't think they will be out for a few weeks though.

If you already have 3-4 MJs around then MJ mods is definately the way to go. I've a 180g with 3 MJ1200 GS2 mod, 2 K4s, Tunze 6000 on a controller and 2 Eheim power filters w/LRs and the flow is great but a bit crazy in the front.

I have 2 in a 150 6' x 18"x 28" Two is a bit much for Soft corals & LPS's. had to play with placement fo a good while to find good spots to not blow things to much. they seem much easyer to place in 24"x 24" tanks. 2- 4 should be good like luke said depending on what your keeping.

I perfer to let them shut off at night and 2 hours mid day, but that's just me.

I finally got around to doing the GS2 mod that I ordered a while back on my maxijet 1200... man o man... does this thing put out some flow! It does have a hum but not a clatter sound... is this normal and is there anything to do about it? I also love the fact that it is much smaller and inconspicuous than the seio 1100 that this mod took the place of...now I will do the other one since I really like this one.

Where are you all placing these modded maxijets..in back corners????? On opposite ends of the tank facing each other???? Or some other configuration?

Also, what will the difference in flow be if I did the other mod on a maxijet 900 instead of another 1200?
