Hello Claudio!

Although more lighting is recommended, if you can get the clam to stay high on your rockwork, preferably right under a light, you might have a shot at keeping a T. maxima under your lights. Supplementing by feeding live phytoplankton would be a very good idea if you try that. Hopefully your tank is very well established, very stable and your water quality is consistently excellent before you would try this.

I understand, but where can I get more info how to keep a T- Maxima?

ItÃ"šÃ‚´s very difficult to find live phytoplankton here in Brazil, but I know there are many people that keep them here!

Thank You!!

The very best resources I know are reading here on Reef Central (start with the sticky threads at the top of this Tridacnid Clams forum, then read every thread you can going as far back as you are willing to) and getting Daniel Knop's book "Giant Clams." In my opinion, that is a "must have" book for your library if you want to keep Tridacnid Clams.

Growing your own phytoplankton is really quite easy if you can find a fellow hobbyist to get your culture started. If you search here on Reef Central for "growing phytoplankton" you'll get tons of information. One good article to read is http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/aug2002/breeder.htm
