Friend had a Maxima. Our BEST guess is that it was being bothered by one of his fish (Valentini puffer or flame angel)
His water is pristine, he's running Radion Gen 2's for light. For all intensive purposes there's no reason that water quality would cause an issue.
Anyway.... It would only open part way and mantle wouldn't extend. I had a Crocea clam that did very well and I sold so Knowing I didn't have any clam harassing critters he decided to put it in my tank. That was yesterday.
Anyhow.... Anything I can do to help this guy get better? It's lots a LOT of zooanthellae and the flesh up the middle is mostly white. It's mouth is also gaping wide.
Any suggestions would be welcomed as I've never tried to "save" a clam. My tank is an under stocked 100 gal long with 75 gal sump and water is low nutrient and clean.
Thanks.
