maxspect gyre help- removing shaft

Hey all,

So my gyre had the blinking red lights and had to be replaced. The instructions on their website said I had to remove the shaft, holder, etc. According to the video on their site it seems like you just pull it out super easy with a pair of pliers. I've been trying for the past forty five minutes and the thing wont budge. I have it soaking in vinegar/ water atm thinking maybe some buildup there is stopping me but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or guidance for removing the shaft?

Make sure you're tugging on the correct end of the drive unit. Only one of the shaft holders is removable, the other is molded into the housing.

If that's not the problem, I'd try soaking the thing in your vinegar solution overnight.

I've found it to take a fair amount of pull force with my needle nose pliers to get that shaft holder out sometimes. Last time I took my gyre apart I had to pull hard enough I was afraid I was going to break the thing.
