That's correct the splash guard will not fit in the original location. I put the splash guard to where the side brackets, that hold the tank mount, are holding the splash guard in place. It works pretty good. If you tighten the screws on the side of the fixture, it acts like a clamp and tightens down the splash guard. If that makes sense. The only thing, is that the splash guard is very flimsy. So I had to put zip ties to hold the middle straight. My plan was to have a piece of glass, the same size as the splash guard, and replace the guard with a piece of glass. I think it would work, just haven't got around to getting the glass.
On another note. I noticed tonight that my rock looks like I'm bleaching the top rock. Is that possible to bleach the live rock? I don't really notice to much during the day. But when the moonlights come on. The top rock looks like it's turning white. Also I have some macro on my rocks, and they seem to be getting losing color. Is this possible ? At first I thought it might be going asexual, but now I'm starting to think it's the light. I'm wondering if it's because of the optics. I'm going to raise the fixture a little more and also I'm going to start running the 30w light just 1 hr each. If I need to. I'm going to just not run the 30 w LEDs and see how it works.
