Maxspect LED owners!!!

I am about ready to order.

I have a 30 gallon cube with some BTA's and a few LPS and zoanthids.

I am deciding between the G2 110 Watt versus 160 Watt.

This will never by an SPS tank (my 120 gallon is for SPS).

I was thinking the 110 watt should be fine, any input on this?

110 would be more than fine for that application & color would be fantastic.

Quick update, both my g2160W units are rocking away! Timers still drift which is annoying but I have no word on a warranty fix for it from the person I purchased from.

is the timers drift issue just about when the lights turn on and off? and what is the disparity after a week?

I think the clock on my Maxspect may be about 2 min faster than my RKE controller after 4 weeks. My RKE clock is pretty accurate.

I am thinking of switching my T5's to LEDS, where do you get the replacement LEDs? I'd want to replace some whites with blues..

The clock drifts / is not dead on accurate. The clock drift causes the lights to go out of sync.

That sucks. I wish you didn't have to reset the clock/timer when you power off the power supply. If they can make it without the clock/timer so I can control it with the AC3, that's even better.

Uh oh.... Look out for this guy! ^^^^ :)

I am gonna rip what is left of my hair on my head if my G-1 doesn't show up soon! :)

The suspense is KILLING me!

Hey Brad, what tank you're putting the light on? will love to see it in action

Anyone else in North East PA have these?

Kelvin, I live in Wilkes-Barre and just put a G2 160 on my 65 gallon tank. So far so good. Seems to be working fine and have nice color. Jeff

You do not? On mine anyways, they have battery backup. The clocks drift a few seconds every day while they are running.

Kelvin,

Putting the G-1 60w on the Solana I have. I'm just gonna do mostly Zoas and maybe some LPS, but no SPS. Got the 75g for that! :)

They still have not shipped the light, most likely gonna ship at the end of the month. I will post up on out board when I get it for sho! :)

knockout: even I think the thunderstorm is over the top :) but it's great just the same.

The timer of my G2-160 hasn't drifted yet. I guess that's what they corrected on this 2nd version.

Ya think!!! LOL I just thought you get a kick out of that. what hight tank you have? and what coral do you keep with the G2-160

My tank's height is 20" and I keep BTA's, SPS, LPS and soft corals.

It definitely compares to a 250 Watt MH.

I don't think I will replace the 30W leds with a bluer version when it becomes available, but I want to replace either the violet leds or 6 of the white leds with blue leds.

I ordered and recieved 6 of them. A couple of questions from a complete ignorant in electrical issues:

- Are the violet leds 1Watt or 3Watt? If they are 1 Watt, when I replace them with 3 Watt blue leds, the blue leds will only work with 33% potency?

- How do I replace them? Do I need a soldering iron? What's the procedure?

The violet LEDs are 3W.

I would like to hear from someone with more electronic skills and knowledge than me on how to replace any of the LEDs also.
