Im trying to stay under 750, esh im trying to stay as low as possibe...i have been in contact with the guys at fishstreet and he said the semi leds burn out quicker, have a higher turn over rate. How long have u had your fixture Acro? Any burn out on you? He also was suggesting the cree version but i want opinions. If the semi led's work good then ill do that but if they are bruning out left and right, eff that. Ill stick with t5's and wait for Sol's to come down in price if thats the case. Heres the current email exchange between me and fish street. Read from the bottom up, of coarse
HI Dana,
Under our replacement situation, around 5 to 8% damage rate on the semi chips will damage within a year, usually around 2 month
If your room temperature is high, it will be more faster, I think for your room temperature is very high! Its will make the LED chips become depreciation faster, I suppose using Cree chips is better
3 foot is enough on it. But I suppose you can consider another LED
Key LEd48Wide, it is more better because under the price with SPS Power bar , it is good for coral

I live in the United states of America. So the semi led's burn out quicker than normal is what im understanding? The room temp in my apartment usually is at about 68-73 C (during the winter) (During the summer i keep the apt cooler and let my tank heaters keep the tank temp right)
The Cree G2 160, would it cover my 3 foot tank as i have a brace running down the middle of the tank?
Thanks again,
Dana

For Semi chips is very very easy to burn, I suppose to using Cree chips is better, and can you told me for your room temperature?
thanks

>Im new to LEDs. Ive decided on Maxspect as i can afford them. I have a 46g bowfront that has a brace down the middle of the tank. I'm trying to decide what fixture to purchase and any info or professional opinion would help me out. The tank is 36 in long, 15in wide in the middle, 11 on the sides, and 21 in deep. I do have some sps but the tank isnt sps dominated at all. My questions are. Whats the differance between the cree fixtures and the semi LED fixtures? The two fixtures im trying to decide on are the semi led G2 170 and the Cree G2 160.... One of my main conserns is the G2 160 being only 16" long and covering my 36" tank...would it?
