Maxspect LED owners!!!

Little help here please.

Maxspect G2-110 W.

Setting timer is posing a problem.

I have the time set correctly.

Instructions state: Press and hold the timer button down for more than 2 seconds to enter the timer setter mode.

Select the LED group by press and hold the mode button to switch to the desired group of LED lights.

I have set the on / off time for both blue and white, yet they remain on. Any ideas?

I originally had the time set incorrectly as this is a 24 hour clock on Maxspect timer. I had the blue lights set to come on at 12 noon , going off at 8 p.m., with the white lights coming on at 1:00 p.m., going off at 7:00 p.m.

I then corrected the 24 hour clock to the correct setting, but as the time progressed, the lights stayed on.

Suppose I could unplug everything and try to start over. The directions are not correct as they state the hour will flash first, when in fact the minutes are the first thing that come up to be set on my timer / controller.

Something simple I'm sure, but aggravating right now.

Well my initial unit had a faulty driver and the timer didn't work. Fins replaced the driver and it's working flawless now.

What are you guys using to hang your light. I don't like the fact that I have to take apart the little metal adjuster thing, that is on the hanger wires, in order to raise the height of the light. I would like to be able to easily raise and lower the light, so that I can move the light up ( if I'm trying to acclimate the coral to the light, etc) and down (after the coral has been acclimated, etc).

You shouldn't have to take the metal adjuster piece apart completely. If you loosen it, you should be able to pinch it so lossen the spring inside and slide it, then let go and the spring action with lock it into place.

So i have been reading this thread for about 4 hours straight now lol i am new to reef central as of last night. i am wondering i just bought a 90gallon reef ready system with a canopy and if i get 2 maxspect g2 160w would i be able to keep them under my canopy or would that be to much heat and would need to cut a hole and add a fan for air circulation?

I recently setup a 20L and am very interested in this system. I want the lights as close to the tank as possible to prevent light from creeping into the room but I'm worried 1 module wont be enough to cover 30" of tank. Any suggestions?

Maxspect is making some updates to the new mazarra line and we can look forward to seeing those released the first week of august.

The new unit has 4 cree XM-L's per fixure! Then uses The new Philips Rebel ES which is similar in specs to the XP-G by cree and the rest of the bulbs are Bridgelux. It will be interesting to see how the unit stacks up to what is already out on the market at this price point.

Well I'm still using the old G2 160's and have no complaints. Been using them for some time now.

The new ones will only work better as far as I can tell.

1 Would be bare minimum while 2 mazarra's would be ideal. The thing about the articulating ball joint is that you can change the angle of light your reef receives every few days, pretty interesting if you ask me. With all of it considered I would buy one and budget the ability to add another If I "felt" it wasnt enough.

Hey guys. I am getting a maxspect 160 , I need to prepare a bracket to hang the light over my tank. would anyone be able to tell me the measurement from the center of one hanging braket to the other ? that way the wires will not be angled inwards or out, but nice and parallel.

I just installed mine 2 days ago to the ceiling. The light is amazing! The distance between the left and right wires is 15 inches.
