Maxspect Mazarra.

they are not releasing any pictures until the show in iowa. they are basicaly the same price as ai or maxspect for the same coverage.

figure a 6' mh,t5,led fixture is over 1000d, then bulb replacements and electric, the led will more than pay for itself quickly.
 
im not sure what it costs for electric per year but bulb replacement is about $300.00. so to guess i might save $500-$600 per year to switch to leds.
 
it's preference really. i will never switch to leds, i just don't like their appearance or their affect on corals.
 
yes it is preference. why switch if u dont like them.

i just figured out my electic usage per year and im not happy. my lights alone use 1kw per hour for a total of 10kwh per day. for the year im using 3650 kwh at 13c per kwh. thats about $500 a year for just to run my lights. if i switch to leds(300w) 3kw per day my bill will be around $140.00 if i run the leds at 100% for 10 hours a day.
 
When my halides were running so was the chiller.
With my Solaris it never runs unless the house gets too warm with windows open.
With ac on it's always off.
Time to sell the chiller!
My corals seem to like it too!
 
I was thinking about getting these. They seem like quality lights. But when i asked how many i would need for my tank i was told 6. So i decided to just go with the vertex illumina. Seemed like a better deal since it was cheaper...and i have yet to hear a bad thing about them.
 
Has anyone received their lights from the second round of orders? My order(second shipment to Salty Supply) was supposedly shipped last Tuesday but I have yet to receive them and still no tracking number just wondering if anyone else has received them...I know the staff from Salty Supply were at MACNA so I'm trying to be patient but I've been waiting over a month. I'm considering cancelling and ordering the Radions or AIs.
 
I talked to marine dep yesterday. They said round 2 any time. I was tring to decide between AI or max but after the AI price decrease I had to stick with them. I did 4 module and saved a ton.
 
I talk to maxspect USA and he said UPS was having problems. I ordered mine from marine depot and they just got their shipment and sent mine out today.
 
UPS having problems...interesting. Salty Supply told me mine shipped last Tuesday direct from Maxspect USA but Maxspect had not returned their call seeking a tracking number...I'm having a hard time with all these excuses. If I don't have a tracking number tomorrow I'm going to get a refund and look into other options
