Maxspect Mazarra.

I agree with saltyreef being a little "weird" on their info about mazarra units being in stock. Someone on the phone said they had 5-10 in stock and just when I was about to order, I got an email saying they were out of stock and wont have any in until 2 weeks.

I really wanna purchase a 4 unit system, but no where has them in stock and the AI SOL blue pricing is hard to beat. Cant decide between the 2 at this point.....hmmmm?

perhaps the worst product rollout ever?
eggs, chickens, bean counters.

someone went to market too early IMO. on the verge of cancelling my order.

Can you easily change out different LEDs on the AI Sols without voiding the warranty?

Do they have multiple different LEDs so that you can enhance certain parts of the spectrum?

I don't think so, but if they do, you should go for it. The maxspect allows you to do all of this fairly easily.

Cheers,
John

I agree, honestly was on the fence with canceling my order a few times with marine depot since their ETA changed several times and I was just getting a headache after waiting for the black units to arrive. Finally looks it like they will be getting frequent shipments from maxspect USA. I know its too early to tell but after a lot of research and reviews I think the maxspects will fit my needs. I really love the design and the rail mounting as well as the led layout. I was debating between the radion and these and it just seems a little too over hyped. I love my vortec pump but the fan placement seems sketchy/lack of mounting options and 4 green leds seem like a waste. Don't get me wrong their service is awesome so I'm sure either would be a great option if any problems were to arise. I got the 2 module setup with 5% labor day discount for 1049 so to me that was a good deal. Acros review and par readings sold me as well. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2065954

I am still on the fence about the Maxspects. I think the only thing holding me back is there is no information about how long is the rail mounting kit. I happen to like the look of this. Is it one size when ordering? The lights themselves look great.

hey vder I' in shoreham as well, cheers! I believe its something like each rail is 12 inches, comes with 3 rails or so I'm thinking at least 36inches not counting the elbows. I'm really just guessing though. I'm putting two modules on a 30inch tank so i'll let you know how it goes when I get mine in monday.

Got mine about a couple of weeks ago. While the previous G2 version was more easy for me to add livestock to the tank, the Mazarra was a bit in the way when it comes to adding livestock to my tank.

don't the mounts and modules slide back out of the way?

Hi all,
I receved UPS's tracking number from Fins Reef LLC at 15 september and from salty supply at 20 september.
But, It is not updated at all.
Aren't there those who had the same experience as me?

In the announcement of Japanese distributor, it was said that the program of a cooling fan had issue. (In Japan, it has not been shipped yet.)

Is the delay in shipment caused by it?

I got mine today. So far not HAPPY at all.. this thing has almost no instructions. and the mounting hardware sucks balls the balljoint wont even screw in properly and I had 3 ppl try it because i thought i was losing it. I ended up using a cement Epoxy to hold the thing together. It is bright i wont lie and looks insane But the mounting just doesn't fit right on my tank because its to thick.. I paid 2599 for 5 modules and hardware and control unit. Ill sell it at 2100 if anyone want is.

Just found out my shipment Has had a recall in the balljoint as they do not fit properly.. We are supposed to get New balljoints next week although i don't seem to believe they will have them in a week.. Really a BIG disappointment.

Can I check with you on the weather mood? I set the weather mood to "On" and when at night, I had tuned only the Channel B & C to 1% whereas the rest of the Channels are OFF. But bcoz I turn on the weather mood, the moonlight does not turn on. Is this suppose to be this way?

I returned mine 3 days after I recieved them. First...the rails mount weren't machine properly as they didn't sit flush on the tank no matter how level I made them. The ball joint also didn't fit correctly and I pretty much stripped the screw on both ball joints on the first shot. Next I put it over the tank and the spotlight effect was pretty bad IMO. It was very bright but at the same time looks like my sandbed was "tie-dye". After second days use my C-channel would short out when I would screw the optics lid back on. Even with slight pressure it would still short out. The board is pretty exposed and you risk loosing a little O-ring even with 100 degree optics. Everytime you want to swap out the optics as wel as they shoot all over the place. Not to mention right out of the box I had a missing 70 degree optics on the module! That right there just shows you how rushed these things were put out. Of all my problems brians at fins reef never returned my calls or e-mails. Stay away..glad to have marine depot give me a full refund and looking into other lighting units with better customer support.
