Maxspect Mazarra.

Yea but you have to compare Cree Maxspect to AI, that would make the Maxspect cost higher. I haven't even heard of Bridgelux LED.

Not to be argumentative....still wouldn't match up 5w vs 3w. If i were to pick up a set of the new maxspect, i don't think the cree version would be in my budget.......just the same if i picked up a gen 2 maxspect.

Either way, speculative talk, I'm really on the fence on which to buy, AI vs. new maxspect. Really irks me no real release date set.

Hey Guys,

George here from the land Down Under :wavehand:

Please check with your local suppliers for USA Pricing. Us Aussies generally pay a bit more due to freight/duties/taxes/lower volume, etc for EVERYTHING!!!!!:headwalls:

Except maybe our corals :lol2:

Just to clarify:
Low End Model - 50w Modules will be named "Mazarra S-Series" - The price includes the Mount and Power Supply. It doesn't come with the controller. It will have basic timer and dimming functions, using bridgelux LED chips.

High End Model - 60w Modules will be named "Mazarra P-Series" - The price of the 2 and 3 modules already include's the Controller, Mount, and Power Supply/s, and will have full functionalities, using Cree XM-L, Philips Rebel ES and Bridgelux LED chips.

I think the USA price will be in the ball park of $599.99 for the 2x50w S-Series model and $1099.99 for the 2x60w P-Series model including controller - but again, PLEASE Check with your local suppliers..

Hope this helps!!

Kind regards,
George
P.S. Apologises to the Mods and RC if I have over stepped the boundries here.

Heck I am glad you stepped in. What portion of a tank will the 3 module 60w unit cover?

I sure would like to see recomendations of quantity of lights for what size tank.

Preorders are being taken via Aquarium Specialty and Salty Supply, other stores will be listing soon. Fins Reef should be ready to take orders late Tuesday night

Aquarium speciality's site says they'll be available July, which is great.

These look awesome, promising, and versatile. However, there's no info on these! What's the guidline for these? How many modules per foot? What are these capable of keeping? PAR measurements? Considering they're powered by cree's and other high end LED's, the PAR should be good, yet there's too little info.

I'm seriously checking these out, I just hope some more info is released.

These are growing on me - fast! I know were all trying to figure out the details; howevr, I'm curious to know - if you buy a dual setup, get a larger tank and want to add a third light - is the mounting bar expandable?

So is this the Maxspect v3, or is this something totally new and different?

Edit to add - just checked pricing at Aquarium Specialty. Wow, these are pricey. Seems to be more than the AI Sol's

At Aquarama the Maxspect rep told me they'll not be releasing any "G3" fixtures, because they are moving away from the "Gx" naming.

Mazarra's would be the next product to be released by them, and probably more down the pipe.:bounce3:

Anybody do some real deal research or have opinions on the rebel and bridgelux LEDs used in these fixtures? How do they stack up against the current standard, Cree xpe's? I'm trying to make a comparison between AIs and these Mazarra fixtures (discounting fixture aesthetics and mounting of the fixtures themselves). Just performance, or speculative performance at this point. They seem to be close enough in price point. 16 LEDS in Maxspect versus 24 in AI's. So what's up LED gurus, any speculative points to be made yet?

Ditto, also, I burn things with my 3 watters @ 40% power. I am sure glad these are dimmable the five watt cree emitters might be overkill!? I do like the idea of the interchangable optics on each LED maybe bringing down the BURN factor.
