Maxspect Razor 15k LED config?

I am wondering how the LED layout is different in the newer 15k Maxspect Razors compared to the 16K's but the Maxspect website hasnt been updated for a while, does anyone know? I saw someone on another forum say the 15K versions are bluer compared to the more purple 16K's?

The 15k 320 watt unit I have does have some purple when ramping up and down ,but I agree that the blue is pretty strong.Sorry I don't have 16000k to compare it to for you.

That's OK dude, what do you think to the unit overall? Does it produce good colours and growth from your corals?

We'll I think it's a great unit.Well made and all that.Since I have had it,four months,I basically keep it on the one automatic program(choice of 2)...so I haven't played around with it.I have LPS and soft coral,and from the light to the bottom of the aquarium is 36".All of the coral is thriving.I keep it at 100%.The unit comes on 7am and ramps up intensity to 100% slowly and goes through it's entire spectrum .I really like the mid day output.I can compare that to MH, IMO...After that it starts ramping down gradually,and off @ 9pm. I have this unit on top of my 220 DT along with a tek 6 bulb 54w t5ho lighting system.To compare colours between the two ,in all honesty,the T5 bulbs have nicer colour in the blue and purple range.That said,I prefer the combination of T5's with the 15000k unit.

I have two of them. They have been running for about 1 month, so consider my opinion accordingly.

The two preset programs are different than what is stated in the manual and published on the website. Other than that, no complaints so far.

My corals have been in the tank for 2-3 weeks. All doing great (except one). Some are spawning and other doubled in size. Light is one factor among many.

Maxspect has a long history with LEd lighting. They have produced several great SPS tanks over the years. IMO, the Razor is one of the best lights when it comes to price/performance. I would be sure that if they made a change to the fixture it was for the better.

My friend has been running his tank with the 16k Maxspect lights. His tank was set up 3/2014. His tank is truly and outstanding example of a successful LED lit tank. His coral coloration is as good as many of the best MH lit tanks. See for yourself.

That is an amazing tank. How wide is it though to need two Razors parallel to the other two? My tank is around 20" wide, 48" long, and 20" deep.

48" wide. He could still add a third row because its really under lit.
